39th Annual Stuart Sailfish Club Ladies Tournament Offshore Rules
Entry:
Entry Fee is $600 per boat prior to October 1st
Late Registration of $700 per boat is permitted October 1st until 7pm October 4th.
Entry includes 4 anglers.
Additional Angler entries may be purchased for $100.
All angler entries include the following: -Angler Swag Bag, full of tournament logo’d gear and gifts from our amazing Sponsors - 4 Dinner Tickets to Captain’s Meeting at Sailfish Club Tiki and Awards Party and Dinner at Two Georges Port Salerno
General Information: -A Florida Fishing License is Required, unless licensing is provided by vessel. (charter boat) -This tournament is open to female anglers only. Male captains and mates are permitted. Each team must bring their own boat, if you would like a list of available club member boats for charter please contact our office at 772-888-6337.
Anglers: -No maximum anglers per boat, all anglers must be registered by close of Captain’s Meeting October 4th -Jr. Anglers must be under 17 as of 10/05/24
Angler and Captain’s Meeting: One person from each team is required to attend. We do encourage all anglers to be present. Each team is responsible for understanding all rules including any changes made at Captain’s Meeting.
Tournament Time:
Fishing Day is scheduled for October 5th
Boats may fish from Fort Pierce, St Lucie, Jupiter, and Palm Beach inlets. Boats may leave at any time.
All boats must check out by text 772-888-6337 or Radio on channel 72, back up 68. Radio opens at 6am.
Lines in 8:00AM
Lines Out: 3:00pm
No Lines in the water prior to 8am including teasers, dredges, baits, etc.
Bait fishing only is allowed prior to 7:30 AM or during tournament hours.
Weigh in will be held at Two Georges Port Salerno from 2:00pm-5:00pm
Boundaries are 26°26’8”N/80°0’4”’W and 27°48’5”N/80°17’8”W All boats must fish in the Atlantic Ocean in US waters.
Scoring:
Live Bait Billfish Releases - 100 points
Dead Boat Billfish Releases - 200 points
Lady Hooks the Fish Herself - 50 bonus points
For live scoring purposes Captain must call in all billfish, how the fish was caught, (Hook and Hand or Angler Hooked, and Live Bait or Dead Bait) and Angler Name and Team Name to Committee Boat via a VHF Radio Channel 72. Teams may use text at 772-888-6337 as back-up ● Time date stamp video including fish identification, and provided boat number, and mate controlling the leader, the leader inside the rod tip, or when the cork and swivel touch the rod tip on a live bait rod.
Billfish Score Cards must be signed by the Captain and any angler with a scoring fish. All cards must be submitted to the Fish Heads sponsored Weigh Station at Two Georges Port Salerno by 5pm day of fishing. It is the boats responsibility to ensure the card is turned in on time. In the event of a tie the last fish called in first will be declared the winner.
The following species are eligible for the meat fish category: Dolphin, Kingfish, Wahoo, and Tuna. Bonito do not count as tuna.
All Boats must adhere to Florida recreational bag limits as they pertain to all eligible species. To view current recreational bag limits visit www.myfwc.com
A maximum of three fish, per species, per boat may be weighed, one fish per species counts toward aggregate weight. Meat Fish do not count toward the aggregate Billfish category. Meat fish are their own category.
If there is a tie on weight in the Meat Fish category the first boat weighed in will be declared the winner
Baits and Hooks
Live and Dead Bait as well as lures are allowed.
All Billfish Must Be Captured on a Circle Hook Only
Mechanical: In the event of a mechanical failure a substitute boat may be used if approved by tournament rules committee
Photo Release: The Stuart Sailfish Club and their respective affiliates have the right but not the obligation to post and or use for any purposes, all video, photos, and other imaging submitted to the club or taken by the Stuart Sailfish Club on a worldwide basis for perpetuity, for marketing, advertising, or other purposes at the Stuart Sailfish Club’s discretion.
Conduct: The tournament Committee reserves the right to refuse entry to any participant for any reason. Cheating in any form is not tolerated.
Protest: In the event of a blatant disregard of the rules by any team another team may submit a protest. Any protest must be filed in writing by 5pm day of fishing and accompanied by a $300 cash deposit fee returnable only if the Tournament Rules Committee finds the protest to be valid.
By entering this tournament, participants agree to abide by all rules and decisions by the tournament rules committee are final. Any verbal/physical abuse or threats made to tournament staff or disparagement (whether orally, in writing, or on social media or any other forum of Stuart Sailfish Club or their staff is grounds for team disqualification for this and future tournaments without refund. Decision of the Tournament Rules committee is final.
